Proxix Solutions Takes Colorado’s State Sales Tax Jurisdiction
Tax Code Locator Web Site Live

(PALM HARBOR, FL) August 29, 2006 – Proxix Solutions, a leading innovator in geospatial solutions, tax applications, and Web-based solutions, announced today the availability of its online service, Colorado State Sales Tax Jurisdiction Tax Code Locator. This service allows retailers and other persons paying taxes to the State of Colorado to lookup accurate tax jurisdiction rates.

For consumers who pay sales and use tax in Colorado, the sales tax appears simple. However, it is a complex patchwork of rates levied in over 300 individual tax jurisdictions. This creates increased complexity for businesses that have other locations in multiple jurisdictions. To help eliminate the complexity of determining the appropriate tax rates, Proxix built the Web-based solution using its Site-US Tax™ application, a fully integrated tax solution that standardizes addresses and uses geospatial technology to accurately assign tax jurisdictions. With Proxix owning and maintaining its municipal boundary file and Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) reporting all annexation changes, the data is kept up-to-date.

This automated system is a vehicle for businesses and other taxpayers to avoid audit costs and over/under payment issues by determining what to exactly collect or remit. Since Site-US Tax received certification from CDOR, anyone using the service is exempt from liability owed because of database accuracy according to the “hold harmless” provision. CDOR also uses the same system internally.

Using the online service is simple. Go to www.site-ustax-co.com, click on Register Now and enter the required information then select one of the minimal payment options. After the information is submitted, a user can enter any Colorado address and the site generates liability and rates for the following:

• State General Tax
• City Use Tax
• County General Sales Tax
• City Additional – Food and Drink
• City Additional Sales and Administration
• City Use Tax
• City General Sales Tax
• Special District Use Tax – Football
• Special District Use Tax RTD
• Special District General Sales Tax RTD
• Special District Use Tax Scientific
• Special District General Sales Tax Scientific

Users can also access the service through CDOR’s Web site at http://www.revenue.state.co.us/main/home.asp.

“ We are pleased to offer this certified electronic database available via the Colorado Web site. With the complexity of Colorado’s tax structure, this service is a valuable tool for calculating the accurate sales and use tax for a particular address within the state of Colorado, says Neil Tillquist, Taxpayer Service Division Director, Colorado Department of Revenue.

“ As the first tax solution certified by the State of Colorado's "Hold Harmless" law and regulation to offer a Web-based service of this kind, Proxix remains committed to developing many firsts in the geospatial industry. It is our goal to provide the highest level of accurate data. With regular updates to our Site-US Tax™ database, we are confident in the accuracy of our tax situsing and tax rates,” states Paul Wray, President of Proxix Solutions.
